Your immune system. The same way some people fight off colds and other illness. There are some people that just fight off the virus better than others.
2 :
STD, Skin, Laser Clinic Dubai http://www.stdskin.com/ No STD, including HIV, is transmitted 100 % of the time. Also, some people are exhibit immunological difference making them immune to HIV, even after repeated exposure to disease. But do not tempt the fate. At this point time we do not know who are immune. So take precaution, always.

The virus is in the fluids of the body. Blood, semen etc. It is in the fluid not the sperm. As for being able to fight a virus . it's possible but as an immune virus this is not possible. thats why it's so dangerous your body can't fight it off. Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is the disease HIV is the virsus (human immune virus). It is possible for a mother to pass HIV to ther baby but only during birth when blood can come into contact with that of the baby. It is not clearly understood that mother and child do not share blood systems all food and waste it passed through the Placenta. Just because you didn't get it this time doesn't mean it wont happen if you sleep with th e person again.

Yep. I saw a video on it once.
2 :
Yes. I believe she should have a C-Section to minimize risks. Also, there are drugs to take that also make transmission less likely.
3 :
yes. only certain ppl have the gene to contract aids or hiv. hiv/aids is just another disease some ppl get it and others don't.
4 :
Yes it is- but I think the doc will have to do the C Section.
5 :
I believe she can now; it used to be that it was always passed to the newborn, but there's a way around it now. Try WebMD.com?

You may want to start with how they think contracted it. How long they knew they have had it for. How did they find out they had it. What symptoms did they have to make them get tested? What did it feel like when they were diagnosed with HIV. What kind of treatment are they taking. How do their partners react if they give them the news about their status. What is their life like now that they have HIV. How do people think they get seen as if they know they have HIV. Do a little research on HIV and you can find some questions to ask when you start researching. Some times it's good to get a little personal so your audience can connect to this person. Just make sure that the person your interviewing is comfortable answering your questions.

how can i get tested for HIV/AIDS without my parents knowing

how can i get tested for HIV/AIDS without my parents knowing?
my doctors office is right down the street (i can walk there), but im afraid that if i go there, they'll tell my parents that i went for a HIV/AIDS test. i dont think i have it, but since watching the movie 'girl, positive' on lifetime, i want to get tested to be sure. since im 18, can i go to my doctors office and have this be strictly confidential? with no evidence that i was there at all?????

Many community health centers will do it for free. If you are 18 they cannot disclose your treatment to your parents unless it'll be billed to your parents.
2 :
go to planned parenthood, they will test confidentially...you could make it a date with a friend and get tested together!
3 :
If your 18, you are legal age. They won't tell your parents unless you ask them too. I'm happy to hear you want to be tested, more young people should, and by the way I watched that movie too.
4 :
ask if its confidential, whch it shud b. they do it for free and in my hospital you get the results before you leave.
5 :
You can have testing done at your doctor's office, the testing is confidential. (You would either pay for the testing or have them bill your insurance company.) You can also have free or low cost testing done at your local health department or Planned Parenthood. You can check the website hivtest.org to find free test sites in your area. In any case, testing is confidential. Results can not be released to anyone, including your parents, without your written permission. Your parents can't be told that you were there for the testing, either.

Has there ever been an incident in the United States where a blood transfusion pack contained HIV/AIDS

Has there ever been an incident in the United States where a blood transfusion pack contained HIV/AIDS?
And was given to a patient? Has something like this ever occurred in the United States in the last 20 years

It has occurred before, but they take steps against it, all donated blood is tested

Yes. It has happened many times. In addition to this, in 2006 Bayer was discovered to have been selling a vaccine in the United States that was also contaminated with HIV. Once discovered, Bayer covered its tracks by pulling the vaccines off the U.S. market and sold them to consumers in Japan, France, Spain, and other countries, where hemophiliacs were then contaminated with HIV due to the vaccine. And yet, despite these apparent crimes, no Bayer executives ever faced arrest or prosecution in the United States! Can HIV/AIDS positive nurses still care for patients

Can HIV/AIDS positive nurses still care for patients?
I was curious and tried to find this info on the Board of Registered Nursing website and could not find any information on this issue. I find it somewhat concerning that infected nurses could be caring for people in the hospital or doctor's office. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me links also

Not sure about that, but Nurses are trained either way to care for a patient. They should not be discriminated because of a disease.
2 :
I'm sure they could. I mean I don't think that nurses get tested for HIV/AIDS before they can get a job. I don't think it would be a problem as long as the nurse takes the right precautions and doesn't do anything that involves bloody things. It wouldn't be right for an affected nurse to do any surgeries or be in an emergency room, but i don't see a problem for HIV nurses working in a place where the patient wouldn't be exposed.
3 :
In the US, all health care workers use what is called "universal precautions." This is the practice of using body substance isolation tools like gloves, goggles/mask, and gown when necessary. This helps ensure the safety of not only the provider, but also the patient. HIV+ health care providers are able and allowed to give care.

This is part 2 of my research i am conducting on HIV/AIDS

This is part 2 of my research i am conducting on HIV/AIDS?
Serious question: Does anyone here that is preferably an African American (prefer a woman..will settle for man) that is infected with HIV/AIDS or know someone that is...How are you now protecting yourself? Also, how did you come about being infected with this disease. This information will also be used in a survey I am conducting for a research paper in Psychology. I asked a question a few weeks ago about why do you all think that the rate is so high among african americans than any other race. I received about 20 responses and that information will also be used in my survey. You can still find my question on line if you need a refresher or didnt get to participate.

Hi Ms., I work in that field and have found that in this part of the US in which I live, there has been a number of AA women that have quote/unquote "settled" w/ infected man for several reasons. 1. the ratio of men to women is like 1:3 (maybe more, not certain) which affords him a "pecking order"! 2. Some women feel that they simply CAN NOT live w/o a man or "that" man when she knows (deep down) that he's playing outside of the relationship and lastly, incarcerated or not, there are men on the DL (down low) that's with their women in the day and their men at night. Sadly, in these relationships, condoms are seldom used if at all. The only way to protect yourself is to get tested to know your status and use condoms or some type of barrier for all types of penetrating sexual activities. I would love to know how your research concludes, please contact me at dvdiva7@yahoo.com
