not exactly known,may transporting monkeys( by some people ) transmitted SIV(a kind of virus) to them ,had mutation or some other changes to make HIV.

it is true that it start as zoonotic disease that is acquired through animal it is written that it is from monkeys of american area virus has been isolated from them there is no ralation between blood group and infection suceptibility

Apparently it is a mutant chimpanzee virus. Maybe someone cut their finger while they were butchering a chimpanzee. It's believed that most of our infectious diseases are mutant forms of germs we got from animals, especially domesticated animals.
