hiv stands for human immunodeficiency virus. as the name states, hiv attacks the immune system. of course, no two immune systems are alike. in fact,there are cells called T-cells that help the body fight off foreign substances. different people have different numbers of these cells. for people with a weak immune system, hiv will be extremely destructive. this is why children and the elderly have a very high mortality rate if they are infected. also, hiv is a virus that mutates at an above average rate. this means that no two viruses are exactly the same, so it makes sense that even people with similar immune systems have different responses to hiv. once hiv becomes aids (acquired immunodificiency syndrome), the symptoms are similar for most people.

Well, if you wind up with HIV/AIDS, you'll wish you hadn't.

1: Don't attempt to transmute your blood. 2: Keep clean, no germs as the immune system is weakened 3: Keep meds going, if you miss even one dose that could make the virus get its defences up and the meds will not work as well 4: You may hug, share utincels, be in same pool, use same toilet. Deep kissing is a no because that is a risk. 5: Most importantly, love them, be patient. HIV/AIDS is a horrible horrible thing but you can still love them.

If you're asking how not to get HIV from an infected person, don't share IV needles or have sexual intercourse with him/her. Basically if you're exchanging body fluids, you're asking for an infection. An exception is saliva, so it's ok to kiss.

I have to do a Physical For my new job Next Week(Police Officer) and was just curious...

no a full blood count does mot test for HIV or AIDS and urinalysis doesn't detect it either.

I would ask them what is included in your physical, and be sure to get copies of any test results - just for your own records. I assume that they can test for pretty much anything they want - as long as they have your permission to do so. If you are in the US, they aren't allowed to have medical records that you do not have access to, and I don't think that they can legally test you for anything that you don't want to be tested for. Of course, to get the job, you'll want to give your consent, but at least you'll know what you're giving your consent FOR. All this basically means that I have no idea what they will and won't test for - but that they COULD test you for pretty much anything.

With a CBC, HIV and STIs cannot be detected. With a standard urinalysis, HIV and STIs cannot be detected. However, there are urine tests for HIV and STIs --- while these are not tested for in a standard urinalysis, if they have a sample of your urine the tests could be performed. They must have consent to test you for HIV. When you are going for your physical you have a right to ask the physician what exactly he is testing you for.
