HIV/AIDS is caused by the transmission of sexual fluids, irregardless of sexual orientation, position, or act.
2 :
If he is performing unprotected oral sex on you, and you have HIV-AIDS, then he can very well become infected.
3 :
Yes, it can indeed be transmitted that way.
4 :
what? if you have aids of course you can give it to him. did you not go to school? any kind of bodily fluid transmits it duh. except spit unless your mouth is bleeding. oh ya if you did 69 and you have aids, he has it now. how crunchy do you feel?
5 :
Nope, I do it all the time with this woman right here and I have yet to have aids. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/Ikwileenbeurt/Catherine_Bell_9.jpg
6 :
YES! Any type of activity that swaps bodily fluids can spread the disease.
7 :
well probably not unless you got some of his body fluids though the condom. is unlikely but you should get tested just to be safe be careful!
8 :
It would be none, if the condom is perfect. Your saliva can't contaminate him and the only way is if there is a cut in your mouth and he accidentally get into direct contact with your mouth fluids.
9 :
OMG girl go and get yourself checked out and stop doing those things until you do.Why would someone ask this kind of question if they where not worried about spreading something.
10 :
You're walking on thin ice.
11 :
during oral sex it can be happen.. be cautious. and why not you worry about yourself... also think of your self if you love him... ok???
12 :
Yes i can since it is transferred trough fluids. If you don't want to infect your partner, go to a doctor and get checked out. If you don't have it then you will both be ok.

can you get hiv/aids by using a sperm towel whitch was used by an infected person

can you get hiv/aids by using a sperm towel whitch was used by an infected person?
I didn't now he was infected

Alright, I am a little naive on what a sperm towel is, but I can let you know that semen can carry the virus that causes HIV. I am not certain on the statistics on how long the virus can survive outside of the body. This would probably be an easy question to google. If it was a matter of moments, then I would definately say there is a chance that the semen could have live virus. But, simply coming in cotact with the virus does not mean you will become infected. The virus has to be able to enter the body, ie: through an open wound, or mucous membranes (ie, mouth, ureter). If the semen only came in contact with your skin, for example your hand, and you had no open wounds on your hand, then your chances on becoming infected are going to very slight. You should find an location in your area that does testing. Most likely, you would be tested now, and then periodically over several months, to ensure that you were not infected. Depending on where you live, there should be places that can test at little or no cost to you. Good luck.
2 :
yes sir be careful

Who was the very first person to get HIV/AIDS

Who was the very first person to get HIV/AIDS?
And how? Now, I've heard it's from monkeys, and I'm HOPING that it was through blood contamination, not the...er...traditional way that humans pass it on.

hahaha i heard that too
2 :
There is a great article on this...web address is below. Explains that the HIV virus first developed in monkeys, transferred to chimps, them to men who hunted and ate the chimps. Read it...very interesting.
3 :
The first epidemic of AIDS in the United States was in the homosexual male population.
4 :
If people are sick enough to have sex with dogs and donkeys, you can bet someone somewhere banged a chimp. I don't know if that is how AIDS came about, but it's something to consider.
5 :
TRUST ME! My health teacher actually made my class do a project on this. The first person to get HIV/AIDS was a hunter in central Africa. It started from a monkey becoming immune to it and biting a hunter, giving the hunter the disease.
6 :
ever watch. the. bbc. chanel from there show about. 1. year ago it was man made and released in africa. by a sintest. and this women stated that she could no go to her grave with out letting people know where it came from she was a assint to him but by her own words was not allowed to go into the lab when it was mixed by him this was on the.bbc. network about.1. year ago i watched this myself. man made like agent orange. ?

If any bodily fluids mix with one who has either diseases the other will contract it, though the amount of saliva (from kissing etc.) it takes for this to happen is substantial and debatable.
2 :
hate to tell you this but you arent going to get any accurate stats on this. how are they going to know for sure? give somebody aids and have them pass it? i guess you can check from patners who have aids and gave it to their partners. But really, how much sex do they have, how many times do they actually use a condom or who have they had sex with? all things people lie about on the regular, so that can change your statistics. all i know in most std cases is men are sometimes carriers more than having the full blown disease. They say women are more likely to have the systems from stds. Wether there is truth in that, i just know what ive read. Either i dont believe you can get stats on it. just kind of find it hard to believe somebody would do that just to find out how easy it is to get a transmitted disease from intercourse.?

I'm a big fan of the Treatment Action Campaign. A good friend of mine was working with them in Tanzania a few years ago. Read about them here: http://www.tac.org.za/community/about And overall, it's trust the World Health Organization's effort in the fight against AIDS in Africa. They're at http://www.who.int And if you're just looking for a good plae to donate money for the holidays, I'd say the ONE campaign is a good cause. http://www.one.org

3 :
HIV can be transmitted in three main ways:Sexual transmission ,Transmission through blood ,Mother-to-child transmission .HIV can also be transmitted through: Unprotected vaginal, anal and oral sex,Direct blood contact, which may occur through needle sharing, transfusions, accidents in health care settings, or certain blood products, Mother to baby; before or during birth or through breast milk. You can download a free guide from http://www.helpcure.com/hiv/.It provides comprehensive information about HIV/AIDS
4 :
Hi, I am a dcotor.. STD is Sexually Transmitted Disease... Hope this would help.. WHAT DOES "AIDS" MEAN? AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome: Acquired means you can get infected with it; Immune Deficiency means a weakness in the body's system that fights diseases. Syndrome means a group of health problems that make up a disease. AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. If you get infected with HIV, your body will try to fight the infection. It will make "antibodies," special molecules to fight HIV. A blood test for HIV looks for these antibodies. If you have them in your blood, it means that you have HIV infection. People who have the HIV antibodies are called "HIV-Positive." Fact Sheet 102 has more information on HIV testing. Being HIV-positive, or having HIV disease, is not the same as having AIDS. Many people are HIV-positive but don't get sick for many years. As HIV disease continues, it slowly wears down the immune system. Viruses, parasites, fungi and bacteria that usually don't cause any problems can make you very sick if your immune system is damaged. These are called "opportunistic infections." See Fact Sheet 500 for an overview of opportunistic infections. HOW DO YOU GET AIDS? You don't actually "get" AIDS. You might get infected with HIV, and later you might develop AIDS. You can get infected with HIV from anyone who's infected, even if they don't look sick and even if they haven't tested HIV-positive yet. The blood, vaginal fluid, semen, and breast milk of people infected with HIV has enough of the virus in it to infect other people. Most people get the HIV virus by: having sex with an infected person sharing a needle (shooting drugs) with someone who's infected being born when their mother is infected, or drinking the breast milk of an infected woman Getting a transfusion of infected blood used to be a way people got AIDS, but now the blood supply is screened very carefully and the risk is extremely low. There are no documented cases of HIV being transmitted by tears or saliva, but it is possible to be infected with HIV through oral sex or in rare cases through deep kissing, especially if you have open sores in your mouth or bleeding gums. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 to 1.2 million U.S. residents are living with HIV infection or AIDS; about a quarter of them do not know they have it. About 75 percent of the 40,000 new infections each year are in men, and about 25 percent in women. About half of the new infections are in Blacks, even though they make up only 12 percent of the US population. In the mid-1990s, AIDS was a leading cause of death. However, newer treatments have cut the AIDS death rate significantly. WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M HIV POSITIVE? You might not know if you get infected by HIV. Some people get fever, headache, sore muscles and joints, stomach ache, swollen lymph glands, or a skin rash for one or two weeks. Most people think it's the flu. Some people have no symptoms. Fact Sheet 103 has more information on the early stage of HIV infection. The virus will multiply in your body for a few weeks or even months before your immune system responds. During this time, you won't test positive for HIV, but you can infect other people. When your immune system responds, it starts to make antibodies. When this happens, you will test positive for HIV. After the first flu-like symptoms, some people with HIV stay healthy for ten years or longer. But during this time, HIV is damaging your immune system. One way to measure the damage to your immune system is to count your CD4 cells you have. These cells, also called "T-helper" cells, are an important part of the immune system. Healthy people have between 500 and 1,500 CD4 cells in a milliliter of blood. Fact Sheet 124 has has more information on CD4 cells. Without treatment, your CD4 cell count will most likely go down. You might start having signs of HIV disease like fevers, night sweats, diarrhea, or swollen lymph nodes. If you have HIV disease, these problems will last more than a few days, and probably continue for several weeks. HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE AIDS? HIV disease becomes AIDS when your immune system is seriously damaged. If you have less than 200 CD4 cells or if your CD4 percentage is less than 14%, you have AIDS. See Fact Sheet 124 for more information on CD4 cells. If you get an opportunistic infection, you have AIDS. There is an "official" list of these opportunistic infections put out by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The most common ones are: PCP (Pneumocystis pneumonia), a lung infection; KS (Kaposi's sarcoma), a skin cancer; CMV (Cytomegalovirus), an infection that usually affects the eyes Candida, a fungal infection that can cause thrush (a white film in your mouth) or infections in your throat or vagina AIDS-related diseases also includes serious weight loss, brain tumors, and other health problems. Without treatment, these opportunistic infections can kill you. The official (technical) CDC definition of AIDS is available at http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml... AIDS is different in every infected person. Some people die a few months after getting infected, while others live fairly normal lives for many years, even after they "officially" have AIDS. A few HIV-positive people stay healthy for many years even without taking antiretroviral medications (ARVs). IS THERE A CURE FOR AIDS? There is no cure for AIDS. There are drugs that can slow down the HIV virus, and slow down the damage to your immune system. There is no way to "clear" the HIV out of your body. Other drugs can prevent or treat opportunistic infections (OIs). In most cases, these drugs work very well. The newer, stronger ARVs have also helped reduce the rates of most OIs. A few OIs, however, are still very difficult to treat. What are major organizations in India working on the issues of HIV/AIDS

What are major organizations in India working on the issues of HIV/AIDS?

JACK India Excerpted from United News of India: CIA Report on HIV/AIDS Baseless by Annapurna Jha November 10, 2002 ''Mr Gates interest in HIV/AIDS projects in India is not meant for charity, as it appears. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation contributing funds to fight AIDS is to protect his billions of dollars of investments in pharmaceutical companies interested in conducting field trials in India,'' Mr Mulloli said. Health Minister Shatrughan Sinha has already rejected the CIA report, and the National Intelligence Council clearly stated the CIA estimates to be 'highly exaggerated' and not based on surveillance data collected in India. Mr Gates has reportedly funded the controversial report and also made huge investments in companies involved in AIDS drug research. Charging that the CIA's direct and unwarranted involvement in Indian public health issues amounted to direct intervention in its domestic affairs and a challenge to its soverignity, Mr Mulloli questioned the basis on which the CIA said that 310,000 people had died in India due to AIDS in 1999 alone. The Indian Parliament talked of a mere 114 AIDS related deaths in 1999. -------------------------------------------- Excerpted from Pioneer News Service, New Delhi: Sinha Rejects US Report on AIDS November 10, 2002 India has rejected an US intelligence agency report which projects that the country will have over 25 million people suffering with AIDS by 2010 even as an NGO charged that the report was aimed at exploiting Indian market for AIDS drugs and vaccines. ---------------------------------------- Excerpted from the Daily Pioneer: Mysterious Malaise by Purushottaman Mulloli of JackIndia November 17, 2002 The CIA says India will have 25 million infected people by 2010, the maximum in any country. But India has recorded only 287 AIDS deaths in 1997, 217 in 1998, and 114 in 1999. In whose interest is it to push up these figures?

NACO is the major organisation in India. Here is Yahoo's directory of Indian AIDS organisations: http://dir.yahoo.com/Health/Diseases_and_Conditions/AIDS_HIV/Organizations/By_Region/Countries/India/Complete_List -------------------------------------------- "Calamity Jane's" quote from Pioneer News Services of between 114 and 287 annual AIDS deaths is a statistical howler from a New Delhi tabloid. He recycles this misprint again and again, despite having been corrected again and again. He has no respect for the truth. The WHO figure for AIDS deaths in India in 2002 was 361,000. The primary activities of JACK since 2001appear to be to try to remove anti homosexual provisions from the Indian penal code. While I don't know the complexities of this legal code, I would think criminal sanctions against gays are likely to worsen the Indian AIDS problem, leaving aside the basic human rights concerns of such discrimination. Calamity's misinformation about the facts of India's HIV problem is not helpful here, to say the least.

National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) is apex body in India which manages all HIV/AIDS intervention. NACO operates through State AIDS Control Society (SACS) which are established in all states of India. NACO provide funding and technical expertise to SACSs in India. SACSs implement various programs like Targeted Intervention projects among more at risk population, Integrated/voluntary counseling and testing facilities for HIV, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of AIDS, Anti retro viral therapy, CD4 counts, Community care center for nutrition and medical support to terminally ill AIDS patients, drop in centers established by networks of HIV positive peoples, blood safety programs, management of sexually transmitted infections etc. Besides this several bilateral agencies are working in the field of HIV/AIDS. Most of the them are working in close collaboration of NACO. To avoid duplication of efforts all projects are cleared through NACO. Several NGOs, philanthropists, youth and celebrities are playing their role in combating the pandemic of HIV/AIDS
