In the name of God ...What's a furry?. Is this a crude attempt at being funny? It failed massively.. Are you a 'furry'.? HIV is not a joking matter. For all out there who have a positive HIV diagnosis there are support groups available to help with trauma, isolation or physical difficulties you may incur. Best wishes to anyone wih HIV or Hep C.

Do to the extreme stress AIDS has put on many African communities, with many of the adults in the population dieing and leaving orphaned children. The adults take with them the knowledge of traditions and the children are left to fend for themselves. If they are doing substance hunting they will deplete the wild life, and with out proper agricultural process they may pollute water, erode top soil etc. On another note the resources that go towards caring for those with HIV and AIDS from prevention, diagnosis, treatment, hospice are large. The ecological footprint of the disease is large (not necessarily that any other disease but the medical industry and laboratories that conduct experiments use a lot of resources and produce a lot of waste)

Anyone know where to find HIV/AIDS statistics for 2008 for South Africa and Australia

Anyone know where to find HIV/AIDS statistics for 2008 for South Africa and Australia?
I tried unaids, and all it had was up to 2007

According to Mugabe the number of people infected with AIDS has fallen. Why? Because everyone who had aids has died.
2 :
Google or wikipedia.
3 :
I don't think they have those statistics published yet. UNAIDS would have them if they were available. Sometimes they don't even survey countries for AIDS every year.
4 :
Surveys take a year or so to compile the data - so 2008 will not be available until next year sometime. Statistics dont magically appear on January 1.

People are sometimes born HIV positive. When the woman becomes pregnant she can pass the HIV on to the fetus. Therefore, yes you or him could still be HIV positive.
2 :
Yes, there many different ways that don't involve sex where you can contract the disease. Do your research, and trust no one. Dont ever have sex unprotected. Its a shame that even married monogamous relationships have to use caution nowadays, because of infidelity. It's sad, but there's always a risk of contracting or passing something. Good Luck.
3 :
Yes, through oral or condom malfunction there is still a chance of passing HIV to someone. If either of you have had even protected sex with someone with HIV, its *slightly* possible you could have it. If you are worried you should both get tested for STD's and then you can put your minds at ease.
4 :
If you want to seek advices about any STD infections and preventive measures, better confer it with a concerned health professional in a Local STD Testing Centers to find out your risk factors. They can give you up date about STD such as Chlamydia and gonorrhea, syphilis and other contagious diseases. If you are one of those sexually active people with multiple partners, STD Testing is something you should not ignore. Its benefits is hundred percent sure to help you.
5 :
Yes, it's true that the Pill is an effective method of birth control when used properly; however, the Pill does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases. The only 100 percent foolproof method of preventing an unwanted pregnancy or STDs is abstinence. One time is all it takes to get pregnant or to get a STD. Don't let anyone talk you into having unprotected sex even once, or you may pay for a lifetime through an unplanned pregnancy and the resulting consequences. Take care of yourself and your body and refuse unprotected sex.

dont trust anyones word it can cost your life

How Exactly Do You Get Hiv Aids

How Exactly Do You Get Hiv Aids?
I Know You Have To Have Sexual Intercorse But I Mean Does He Have To Go Inside You? Or What?

hey i am not sufferin frm aids but not using condoms and caps those peoples r suffrein frm aids r u suffrin so thats y r u askin such ques.
2 :
Brilliant answer from Amit there... But essentially, the main way of getting HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) is to have have sex without a condom on. And yes, essentially that means going inside you. The other main way to get HIV is by contaminated blood, e.g. if you are a drug user and share needles. There are other ways to get HIV, but to keep the reply straightforward, they are the two main ways.
3 :
sex- man in women, ejaculates, women has a sore (man may tear a women in the act) hiv can enter that way, a man sperms carries hiv in it as well. The sperm mets with the womens body fluids, interacts, and spreads. Be carefull and get tested. Good luck
4 :
All of the above but also it needs to be stressed that oral and anal sex can also pass it on. Take protection seriously!
5 :
Sexual Intercourse is not the only way to contract HIV/AIDS. You can get it several ways coming in contact w/ someone that has it. --The first and most common way is sex. This also includes oral sex. If the person who you are giving oral sex to has an open sore on their genitals and has HIV you can get it this way. It is also spread through bodily fluids.(sperm)Deep kissing can also be included w/ this. If you kiss someone with an open sore you can get it that way as well. --A third way to transmit the disease is from mother to baby . if a pregnant woman with HIV has a baby the baby will be born with it. --Fourth is through shairng needles with aninfected person. Examples are drug users who share needles, or getting a tattoo w/ an contaminated needle. --Fifth way is pretty simple, through blood contatc with a person who has HIV/AIDS

Your question is invalid. Everyone knows the answer to this. Stop asking such stupid questions.

How is HIV/AIDS related to homeostasis

How is HIV/AIDS related to homeostasis?
I'm just curious how it all works out. I know the overview of the disease, but I'm confused as to how it's connected to homeostasis in the body. Oh, and are helper T-cells and CD4 cells the same thing? Same goes for killer t-cells and CD8..

Main issue with homeostasis I can see is that it prevents the body from fighting infection which is in itself an effort to restore homeostasis (the state of not being infected) Yes, helper T cells = CD4, Killer T cells = CD8 CD4 cells are the main ones that are infected but it can infect some other immune cells.

How do people with HIV/AIDS carry on with dating/having a relationship

How do people with HIV/AIDS carry on with dating/having a relationship?
What are the difficulties of having HIV/AIDS and how does that affect one's personal life? This isn't for an essay or anything. I'm watching The 24th Day and it just made me think. Thanks for your opinions.

I can imagine that it would be difficult for someone to carry on with life if they were struck with something as detrimental as HIV/AIDS. After all, they realize that they are going to die. So of course it is going to affect their personal lives.

Is It Possible To Get HIV/AIDS From A Mechanical Pencil Stab

Is It Possible To Get HIV/AIDS From A Mechanical Pencil Stab?
Someone in my English class stabbed me with a mechanical pencil this year and everyone says that the person who stabbed me has AIDS. I had seen him stab hiself with that same pencil and I notcied he never changed the lead. In one of my later classes I noticed I was bleeding in the same spot he stabbed me. My family says this is not possible, but I'm still wondering about it. Is this possible or is it just a stupid rumor and a bad question?

Under labaratory conditions, it might be possible to use a pencil to transmit the disease from one person to another, but it would be difficult. The HIV virus does not survive well outside a human body. While you mention the lead from the pencil was not changed, if he wrote with it at all the lead (actually graphite) that touched his skin is gone, left behind on paper (or bathroom walls, books...). A person with HIV exhibiting such behavior should be expelled from school at once. A HIV+ person needs to understand that this kind of fooling around is unnacceptable. It is not clear from your question if the person truly has HIV, but a trip to the school nurse is in order. If the school knows that this person is HIV+, you should see a result. I think this kind of behavior is like pointing an unloaded gun at someone; it may be safe but it doesn't feel good!
2 :
You have the right to worry about this incident. Theoretically, you can get the virus especially if involves fluid transmission, such as blood. if this problem burdens you so much, I suggest you to have a blood test done.
