Do to the extreme stress AIDS has put on many African communities, with many of the adults in the population dieing and leaving orphaned children. The adults take with them the knowledge of traditions and the children are left to fend for themselves. If they are doing substance hunting they will deplete the wild life, and with out proper agricultural process they may pollute water, erode top soil etc. On another note the resources that go towards caring for those with HIV and AIDS from prevention, diagnosis, treatment, hospice are large. The ecological footprint of the disease is large (not necessarily that any other disease but the medical industry and laboratories that conduct experiments use a lot of resources and produce a lot of waste)
