IT SHOULD BE DECLARED AS NOTIFIABLE DISEASE . IT IS A CONTAGIOUS SO IT MUST DECLARED AS ONE .
2 :
It should be declared as a notifiable disease. It's extremely contagious and causes death in most, if not all cases after progressing into AIDS.
3 :
It is notifiable in most states. It is not extremely contagious. It is very hard to get HIV, unless you share certain body fluids, not even all of them ( like saliva or urine do not transmit it). And even then it's not a high transmission rate, like chicken pox or flu. Most people with AIDS do not die if they take medicines. But it is reported because of the public health implications, the higher the number of AIDS cases, the worse the state's public health looks ( as in why didn't the patients get medicine before converting to AIDS. Ideally should help to distribute funding, as it should be a priority, but unfortunately funding this year has been cut dramatically yo the point that in the most affected states there's no money for medicines...

Need a HIV/AIDS-knowledgeable gay male for an interviewee

Need a HIV/AIDS-knowledgeable gay male for an interviewee?
I am doing a research project on stigma and AIDS/HIV. If you or your partner/friend/relative has a personal experience with AIDS/HIV, I'd like to ask just a few interview questions over e-mail or messenger (whichever you're comfortable with). Thank you!

Can HIV/AIDS be transferred through kissing on the lips

Can HIV/AIDS be transferred through kissing on the lips?
Me and my brother got into an argument over some stupid video of people making a kissing chain in some city and he says "They could get AIDs if anyone was infected." and Im saying No it can't be transferred by kissing on the lips cause I know for a fact it can only be transferred by vaginal fluids, semen, or blood. I know it's gross sorry but can it be transferred through saliva?

1 :
No! but if there is an open cut in the mouth or on lips then YES!
2 :
only if one or both of the kissers had an open sore in there mouth or lips, if one had it and blood was leaked from the open sore into the recipients stomach it could be absorbed through the blood, or if both had an open sore it could jump from sore to sore, but this is very very rare, but it can happen
3 :
if you both have bleeding gums YES
4 :
sorry you cant get it from kissing
5 :
No, there is no risk at all from kissing. Saliva is not an infectious agent. It actually has over a dozen proteins and enzymes that inhibit the HIV virus. That is also why experts are now saying that RECEIVING oral sex is a zero risk activity. So if you can't get it from receiving oral sex, then you're certainly not going to it from kissing.
6 :
you would have to pass around over a pint full of saliva to the other person for them to get the virus
7 :
No, the virus can only be transferred through Sexual contact contaminated needles and mom to baby the overall list is Blood semen vaginal fluids breast milk and spinal fluid things that CANNOT transfer it are saliva tears urine body oil sweat vomit if you were to get it through saliva there would have to be blood in it
8 :
No only if you both have a cut in your mouth

Can U please enlist the precautions that we should take to prevent HIV (AIDS) infection by sexual activities

Can U please enlist the precautions that we should take to prevent HIV (AIDS) infection by sexual activities?

abstinence
2 :
If that doesn't work always always ALWAYS use condoms!!!
3 :
-Condoms are not 100% effective. -Did you know that STD (sexually transmitted disease) only needs MERE genital contact (like for example, or*l sex, or nude frottage-dry humping) to get you some STDS like genital warts and so on? These can be cured by creams, but really, are you going to break it to your future spouse/boy/girlfriend how you had STDs by casual sex? -Abstinence is still the best method. HOwever, if you cannot control your desires because of lack of self-discipline, and HAVE to engage in casual sex, please do make sure a condom is used, and have regular checkups. Also, try to keep the number of sex partners you have minimal to reduce the chances of HIV and STDs.
4 :
simple dont do it with anyone who has a disease until they get cured by medicine

what effect does hiv/aids have on the environment

I don't think there is any single correct answer, because it is so open ended. You could pick one aspect about the HIV epidemic, from it's origins in Africa where hunters contracted a Simian Immunodificiency Virus that likely evolved into HIV. Or, you could pick the effects of governments' handling of the epidemic by doing nothing for years because it was considered a gay plague, wherein countless consumers died. That's something more involved though, because that is the roll of all diseases on populations. Also, you could delve deeper into the behavior of the virus itself. it's structure and ability to adapt and evolve into potentially something even more harmful. So many angles you could take with this question. As long as you can present your idea and support it with facts, then you have nothing to lose. Your teacher is probably only looking for you to think critically about a subject, rather than regurgitate what you heard your schoolmates say.
2 :
The environment wouldn't be damaged due to HIV or aids, but the outcome on epidemics to the environment can, because of death tolls and the fact that bodies need to be incinerated where infection is cause of death, so the fact that we need to make sure the virus is dead which the only way that is done is through incineration, which cant be good for the environment due to the vast amount of co2 being pumped into the air, also, I think its unhealthy to the environment because of the women who end up infected which is not good in any case. but to be absolutely honest, I dont have a clue,x

I am a gay teen, but i am not in a relationship due to fear of HIV/AIDS

I am a gay teen, but i am not in a relationship due to fear of HIV/AIDS?
i'd really like to have a boyfriend, but i'm really afraid of the prevalence of HIV in gay men, especially younger men. this is REALLY causing a lot of stress and depression in my life. a website said that 1 in 5 gay men in cities are HIV positive. i don't like those odds at all. i sometimes feel suicidal because of all of this. i don't want to be alone, but i couldn't deal with getting aids

You should ask doctor for help!
2 :
just make sure the guy your with gets tested for HIV/AIDS. you cant just randomly get it buy having sex, you can only get it if the other guy has HIV/AIS
3 :
Dont be a stupid idiot. Your not gonna get hiv from having a boyfriend. You have like the same chance if you are straight. Infact there are more heterosexuals that have hiv than homosexuals... P.s its called protection
4 :
I dont think that what you are experiencing is not normal *I am not gay, but I can still help you w this, lol* but, I think that if you truly want a realtionship w someone, you should explain to them how important to you your life is, and how well you care for your body, and anybody that you date, you should *before becoming sexual* go get tested together at a local planned parenthood. If they are not willing to, they don't care about themselves, or you. good luck, dont let this debilitate your life!
5 :
Find a boyfriend you can trust, take HIV\AIDS test, use condoms and keep yourselves committed to each other. Everything will be at least ok.
6 :
look calm down your panicking over nothing there's things you can do to prevent it like use a condom and it isn't just gay people alot of heterosexual people get it as well
7 :
Well with every guy I tend to have relationship I ask him to get tested for all diseases and after about 2 months when I'm comfortable and trust him we go one step further. Always use protection!
8 :
It's not realtionships that cause HIV, it's unsafe sex with infected partners. Use a condom. If you're in a monogamous long term relationship and you want to go bareback, have him tested first. It shouldn't stop you from having a relationship.
9 :
I wouldn't believe everything I read on the internet-- in fact, I would believe very little of it. Statistics that are uncited are more than likely made up. Dude, don't let STDs stop you from being who you are. Are you sure it's that? It sounds more like, to me, that you may have other reasons for being stressed out. Being gay isn't easy, that's the truth. But if you use protection, man, that's all you can do. And it's pretty damn effective too.
10 :
well where i live in brighton it's 1/10 and my uncle is gay but remember u wont get aids if u use a condom and make sure you do and hopefully your be fine.
11 :
well i know a ton of gay men and some of them do have hiv but its not because they are gay its because of there sexual habits if you have a boyfriend and you trust him why not get tested for stds before beginning to have sex relax dude make the top wear a condom and most likely you'll be fine

A movie with a young boy diagnosed with HIV later Aids from the late 80s early 90s

A movie with a young boy diagnosed with HIV later Aids from the late 80s early 90s?
I saw this movie when I was 10, so the movie is at least 11 years old. The beginning of the movie, is the mother at the funeral of her young son, then the movie flashes back, and the mother tells the story of how her son got HIV/AIDS, and follows through to his death in bed late one night. It's not the Ryan White Story, the very first scene, is a graveyard.
