Can you get HIV/AIDS in water parks

Can you get HIV/AIDS in water parks?
I'm going to Hurricane Harbor in July and I just had a random thought and now I'm like really curious and scared. Is it possible? That someone with HIV has an open cut and it spills into the water.

chances are slight.

It can not transmit through water. The bacteria would basically die when they come out into the water. Only way to get it, is direct contact with the blood, and your blood. You have a cut, and HIV blood hits you, you get it. Otherwise, no way.

If you're sharing a needle and shooting up with an HIV/AIDs infected person in the bathroom or having unprotected sex in hurricane harbor with an hiv/aids infected person, then yup, you sure can. The virus can only live outside the body for a very short period of time, and places like that overdose on the water chemicals. You are NOT going to get HIV/AIDS from a water park. So put your paranoia pants back in the closet, slap on your sunscreen, and go have fun!!! :)

no.. the molecules in the water will break down the blood. If someone does get HIV, it has to be blood to blood contact. hope this helps

It is very unlikely that this could happen. The virus can live outside the body for up to 72 hours but under the right conditions. When it comes to water it is not likely. The water is often treated with enough chemicals that the virus would be killed instantly. Transmition of the AIDS virus needs direct human to human contact through fluids. To put it plainly you stand a better chance of winning the lottery than contracting AIDS
