If someone receives HIV/AIDS, how long does it take before he/she can spread it?
If someone receives HIV/AIDS, how long does it take before he/she can spread it? Does it take 2-3 months before the person who receives HIV/AIDS can infect his/her partners? Thanks.

A person can spread it right away, before they know they even have it.
2 :
The HIV virus can spread as soon as it infects its host. So if one day a HIV positive person(a) has sex with someone(b) and gives them HIV, and the next day that person(b) has sex with someone else(c), then all of them can be infected. Be smart, wear a condom everytime.
3 :
No it doesn't take that long for an infected person to spread it. He/she can do so right after they get infected.
4 :
as u get infected by hiv, within 24 hrs the virus replicates all around the body.. then .. by blood or semen or vaginal fluid it is infected to other ..

Can you get HIV/AIDS from a used lancelet

Can you get HIV/AIDS from a used lancelet?
A lancelet is what is used for diabetic patients while testing their blood sugar. Can you get HIV/AIDS from a used lancelet? What if the person that used the lancelet doesn't have HIV/AIDS? Just asking.

yeah, it gets blood on it.
2 :
i really dont think so, but im not a dr
3 :
YES, you can... Don't re-use lancets... Even if you think the person is "clean," I still would use my own new one...
4 :
If the virus is present, you can contract it this way.
5 :
whenever you mix bodily fluids you expose yourself every single time
6 :
ys, yes sharing needles spread aids and this device is a needle
7 :
The chance is very high, but Do not take chances with your precious health! No, if the other person does not have that! There are too many other blood born infections that you could contract, be cautious!
8 :
Only if the other person who used has hiv/aids
9 :
Tell me,how the f*** u gonna get HIV from someone that dont got it ,man iz u stoopid or some thing? Dee Dee Dee
10 :
if the only person that used the lancet does not have aids/hiv, then there is no way for you to contract it. the virus is not there to contract. other bloodborne pathegens are tho, and noone knows if they could be susceptible to them so do not re-use lancets, whether they are yours or someone you trust. use a new one every time and only then if they are sterile.
11 :
If they didn't have AIDS then you can't get AIDS if they did and it has their fresh blood on it than It's possible\but I am fairly certain you would have to have used it to break open your skin or put it in an or face. I am not sure what the lifespan of the dried blood would be. If the virus would live through the process of drying up
12 :
yes. a used lancelet is no different than a used needle.you can still transfer.
13 :
It is possible only if the person has contaminated blood (which may or may not be currently showing up on their HIV test). However, since the purpose of the lance is to make one bleed out there is less chance of the virus entering the blood stream than , for example, using an infected needle to inject drugs.
14 :
yes of course u can
15 :
If a person who is HIV+ used the lancet recently and then you used the lancet there is a POSSIBILITY of transmission. But it would not be classified as high risk. A lot of people have misconceptions about the ease/efficiency of HIV transmission. Outside of unprotected sex and sharing IV needles, the risk of transmission is QUITE low. HIV does not materialize out of thin air. One of the people involved must be HIV+.

What are the chances of getting HIV/AIDS from receiving oral sex

What are the chances of getting HIV/AIDS from receiving oral sex?

Slim, but possible. HIV can be spread through blood and saliva. So if a man has a blister or some other cut of his penis, then he can recieve HIV from another.
2 :
Your chances are high. Any bodily fluid transfer, with the exception of tears, can transmit hiv/aids. tears have too great of a salt content for the virus to survive. Get tested if you have been even possibly exposed! Do not postpone testing. The rest of your life is what your gambling with. Joe
3 :
There are other STDs too, that can be spread this way, so it would not be good to take such a chance.
4 :
In order to understand this problem, one must study how one gets HIV infection and how such infection develops into AIDS. It is now accepted that one gets such HIV infection through the body liquids of the affected person, i.e. blood, semen and saliva. it is not contagious and so one does not get it, by shaking hands or kissing the patient.
5 :
Yes, it is possible for either partner to become infected with HIV through performing or receiving oral sex. There have been a few cases of HIV transmission from performing oral sex on a person infected with HIV. While no one knows exactly what the degree of risk is, evidence suggests that the risk is less than that of unprotected anal or vaginal sex

Highest caused of death in some African countries Symptoms/Progression of disease Hard to catch except through sex and other high risk behavior Someone can have it for many years without symptoms and spread it History of human cases--patient zero in the US and emergence first in gay community. Treatable with drug cocktail but $ Future? Vaccines, milder forms. Take your pick, but that is way more than five minutes. There is a good book called The Coming Plague which has a great chapter on HIV

ummm YEAH. 1. That's totally disgusting and 2. And since AIDS attacks you body and blood happens to be apart of your body the AIDS is in the blood. Drinking it will give you a for sure chance of contracting HIV/AIDS...
2 :
AIDS is not the only thing u can get... Hepatitis b and c .....im sure there r other but is it worth the chance?? if u have already..get tested..the simple embarrassment of saying why u want to get tested is worth the treatment earlier in stages then when harder to treat in later stages..resulting in death..
3 :
No, of course not. - Wine is 8-15% disinfectant (ie alcohol). - HIV dies in seconds outside the body. - Presumably, neither of you has HIV, so you can't pass it on under any circumstances.
4 :
Its risky, but probably unlikely. Like someone already said, its alcohol. That will pretty much kill the virus. Second, hiv/aids is not transmitted in that manner unless you have an open wound in your mouth (microscopic or visible) as the digestive system can destroy the virus. There are other illnesses you can contract in this manner so.. be careful
