you will die there is a reason why when you get a blood transfusion they check your blood type.
2 :
If you have compatible blood types, nothing will happen. If you have incompatible blood types, blood will coagulate (clump up) and you will die. People with O- can give blood to anyone. People who are AB+ can receive blood from anyone. All others must be exactly the same. Oh ... and I totally agree with you regarding Miley Cyrus. If she went away, no one would miss her.

Ive read that straight women who have had sex with hetero men are a higher percent, than gays.
2 :
A high percentage i guess. now that i think of it.i will never date again.
3 :
It really depends on which country you look at and which particular demographic. Unfortunately it does tend to be higher amongst gay populations than straight populations (at least in Europe and the US), but that's mostly due to our higher biological vulnerability and the unfortunate persistence of unsafe sexual practices in society that originated during the periods when homosexuality was illegal and sexual encounters had to remain covert. It's an unpleasant truth, but you can't argue with statistics.

HIV/AIDS is a virus that only affects humans. It's a virus that is suspected to have begun in Africa when several people decided to have sex with chimpanzees, then brought the virus to other parts of the world. It's harmless to the chimps, but obviously devastating to the humans. So no, dogs could never get the virus to start with, let alone pass it on. Also, when male dogs mount each other it's a dominance gesture, not anal sex as with humans. You have a lot to learn about viruses as well as animals.

yes they have sex orgins like us they can get it.

OOOHHHH yes.

Does the Increase in HIV/AIDS have anything to do with the increase in homosexuality

Does the Increase in HIV/AIDS have anything to do with the increase in homosexuality?
Is there an increase in homosexuality? many people will say that 10% of the population in the US are homosexual, but has that percentage increased? I have also taken into consideration that this percentage is just for the people who have actually come out. But if you could please help me find some sites to back any information up that you have have! THANKS :)

I think now-a-days any increase in HIV is due to an increase in stupid people having unprotected sex!
2 :
there really isn't an increase in the amount of people who are gay per say. there has always been homosexuals except back then they would have been killed for saying so. the only reason people think there is so many of them now is because its ok for them to be out and proud. BTW the only reason they thought aids was a gay disease was because its more easily passed through anal sex. they know that anyone can get it at anytime so wrap it up.
3 :
Jazzy is correct it is because there is an increase in people that are having unprotected sex & if you also look there have been huge jumps in the world population in the past ten years, & finally there is no link between homosexuality & hiv in higher transmission rates so don't listen to those that say otherwise.
4 :
no it doesn't if you knew anything about 1960's you would know that just because your gay doesnt mean you spread aids. its just because people are being stupid and having unprotected sex
5 :
There isn't a rise in homosexuality. If you think about it there obviously will appear to be more homosexuals but in reality it's just that more are letting people know they are homosexual. HIV/AIDS is spreading like wildfire because people are cheating, lying, wretched creatures. No other reason. You're welcome
6 :
No...it has to do with increased drug abuse and promiscuity : ) http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/
7 :
The higher rates of HIV/AIDS is due to a lack of education. Now that there is the "cocktail," the younger generation is engaging in unsafe sex thinking if they get the virus that the drug regimes will keep them healthy. Not true.
8 :
There is no real evidence the amount of homosexuality in society has increased.... more people are open about it is all. At first there was an association with homosexual relationships, due to the ease of spread of HIV during anal sex. Now, however, it is being spread largely through unprotected sex in heterosexual relationships (because they're more common). Check out the World Health Organisation's reports on the aids epidemic, or pretty much any recent publications (health journals, textbooks, documentaries); they will support this
9 :
Naw, its just an increase of people not being sexually educated and or unresponsible and fucking like rabbits.....
10 :
No it has to do with the increase in people having unprotected sex.
11 :
No, homosexuality has not increased. And, in fact, the spread of HIV actually decreased quite a bit among the gay community once we became educated about using protection (condoms). HIV is spreading the fastest among straight minorities right now because they still think AIDS is a gay disease and can't happen to them, so they don't use protection.
12 :
I can tell you that I know several gay guys who have become HIV+ over the past three years. They all share the exact same commonality that probably resulted in it. All of them use drugs, most of them use or used crystal meth, and all of them either went to sex parties or to the bathhouse or just had random, unprotected sex. It isn't an increase in homosexuality that has caused this increase, because statistically, college age girls are among the highest rates of increase as are girls in their 20's and straight guys, college age and into their 30's. Promiscuity is on the rise as is drug use in combination with it. My partner and I are very, VERY monogamous and have been for the past almost three years. My straight brother in that time has cheated on his girlfriend of 3 years several times and he has had far more sexual partners than I have. Until we clean up our act as a society - this will continue
13 :
I think HIV, as well as every other sexual transmitted Infection/disease, is on the increase because of how casual (homosexual as well as heterosexual) sex has become. I guess also with the rise of a whole different range of contraception, from the pill to the implant, many people have forgot about the wonders of the 'Johny' - protection from pregnancy and STD's. I believe that casual sex has also become easier to get, with the wonders of the internet, chat rooms, swingers sites aswell as people becoming more aware of dogging locations. So i don't believe the increase in HIV/AIDS is solely to do with the increase in homosexuality. I know this doesn't really answer your question, but i just wanted to give my own opinion on the subject. Take care. x
14 :
There has been no increase in homosexuality. If the HIV rates are going up (and I don't know that they are), it may be that people are complacent again, and not using safe sex. But there is no increase in homosexuality.
15 :
The fastest growing AIDS population in the US is African-American teens. Unsafe sex practices in young americans who have a "it can't happen to me" attitude is this main cause. For the world population it is currently in Africa. Rampant unsafe prostitiution (with rough and fairly discusting practices being popular) with women, ignorance, poverty, and social issues are main contributers there. I'm not saying other portions of the populace have unsafe or risky practices, but the largest growth are in these populations.

How long can the HIV/AIDS virus survive in an airless environment

How long can the HIV/AIDS virus survive in an airless environment?

STDs - 3 Answers

1 :
It needs blood as a host, a human person, so it dies almost instantly outside the body.
2 :
HIV ( virus that can lead to AIDS) will survive longer in a syringe than in open air, but I can not give you a definite time frame as to how much longer.
3 :
Virus only survives inside a cell, which can be found inside a living body.

HIV/AIDS Infection when pricked by dental sharp instrument

HIV/AIDS Infection when pricked by dental sharp instrument?
I started shadowing at a dentist. When collecting used instruments, I accidentally got pricked by a sharp instrument. I was wearing gloves. The patient was a gay, white male who had bled during the procedure. I read many articles that HIV/AIDS is common among this specific community. His partner had passed away recently for reasons that I'm not sure of. What are the chances that I may contract HIV from this patient?

the virus would have died within a few minutes.
2 :
I don't want to cause hysteria but if you got stabbed by anything with blood on it you should be VERY concerned. Even if HIV can only survive minutes outside the body, thats still probably long enough to get infected. There is also a whole list of of other viruses he could possibly have. Without getting too paranoid about it I would just wait to see if you get sick and then go to a doctor and see what s/he would recommend getting tested for. Thats all you can really do
3 :
First of all, HIV is NOT "common" in the gay community. That is an old stereotype. The vast majority of gay people are HIV negative. Second, HIV is an incredibly fragile virus and cannot survive long outside the host. Any virus in blood on the instrument would be dead within seconds of exposure to air. If you were wearing gloves, they protected you. Even if you had not been wearing gloves, the potential virus would have been dead anyway. You have zero risk of HIV infection from this exposure.
