HIV is a virus - there is no cure AIDS is the term given for when a patient with HIV presents a number of illnesses (i.e. sore like Karposi's Sarcoma). People without HIV can get these ilnneses, but when a number appear in one person with HIV they are termed AIDS. There is no cure as it is HIV causing the problem

Not currently, but perhaps there will be better living through science? Or, biotechnology... In Germany, doctors have claimed to cure a man of AIDS by treating his concurrent Leukemia with stem cell therapy. Leukemia is best treated by a bone marrow transplant, and the bone marrow used was from a person with a natural immunity to HIV. He has now gone 20 months symptom free. UC Davis is also currently in the process of engineering a patient’s stem cells to mimic a natural resistance to the AIDS virus. Here is a related article:

No, there is no cure. I hope someday a cure is found though, because this is one of the most deadly diseases out there.
