I would think they'd have to be for general safety. Just want to know for sure. Thanks.

Yes, it is a rule governed buy the athletic commission in all states that sanction MMA professional fighters be tested, for any and all blood born pathogens. The bad part is the small promoters and amateur fighters (back yard) who are not tested who bleed just as much as the pro's stand a far more risk than anyone out there.

Yup. MMA fighters in other organizations are tested, too. They run them through a complete physical. MRI's and such are also common.

Most of your states now require all fighters to take a blood test in order to be licensed and fight. They must furnish the results of that test at weigh-in and it has to be in the past twelve months from the date that they are fighting. HIV, Hepatitis-C and other things are tested for in that blood test and that is a state athletic commission requirement and the UFC just follows that standard under the unified rules of MMA. While the UFC can set rules that are more stringent they can not set rules that are less and I have see situations where part of the fight contract included a blood test for both just because of the lifestyle that one of the fighters was leading.

Yup. Not just the UFC. Even in the small time local fights that you see in the bars. You have to have your bloodwork with you when you go to fight.
