I WANT FACTS!? I SUPPORT GAY RIGHTS! I SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE! I BELIEVE THAT PPL ARE BORN GAY! YOU CANNOT "TURN" GAY So... i had an argument with a family member about the gay community. he thinks the opposite of me.... SO in the simplest terms....Where did HIV/AIDS originate?

Umm sort of. The Gays deadn't create it but they are the main ones spreading it now adays. I hear most HIV/AIDS transmisions now adays are between gays. I probably gonna get a ton of thumbs down in this section though.

Monkeys.....humans got it from monkeys. If that means someone was having sex with a monkey, well, okay, then, but it could have been passed on through other bodily fluids. Akshdeep's answer seems to make sense. Like the way avian bird flu has mutated and now humans can catch it.

AIDS was originally a disease found in monkeys... yes, you read right, monkeys, 0.o NO! nobody had sex with a monkey, instead, in africa, were it all started, somebody must have eaten some undercooked monkey meat which held the disease, therefore introducing it into the human race :(

Nobody knows for sure. But everyone likes to come up with their own conclusions. None of them are true. Probably nobody even knew the first person that contracted aids/hiv, let alone how it was contracted.

the origins of HIV.AIDS have nothing to do with being gay or sex with a monkey - yes it spread faster in the gay communities in the 80's - today it is spreading fastest among heterosexual teenagers and college aged people - the first reported cases were more then 50 years ago and it has been found in DNA more then 100 years ago in tribes in africa - there is no exact known origin although it appears to be traced to a similar condition in primate, it may have crossed over from eating animals or from other contact with the wild animals or may have developed on its own....below is a link to the news artciel as presented on cnn

Captain planets a huge dick, anyway i learned that a scientist or a native or someone had sexual relations with a primate who carried a disease that was not harmful to primates but this was transferred from the primate to the human thru bodily fluids. The original human carrier then spread it to others etc. and the cycle continues unfortunately

not too sure, but i`ve heard gay people and monkeys. Aids was spread by the gay communities, however I have also heard, and believe this to be more realistic, that it had somethings to do with nurses in Africa.

One might hypothesize that it became widespread within the gay community because there is no need for contraceptive, and therefore preventative measures (like using condoms, which also prevent the spread of AIDS) were not used as frequently. That's just my hypothesis.

Green Monkeys in Africa carried the virus but were unaffected by it. The men in Africa slaughtered the monkeys because they had a lack of food. The blood from the monkeys got into open sores on the hands of the workers, which caused them to get the virus. They would go home and have sex with their wife and give it to them, and then it would pass to their children. so on and so forth. Its a virus that plagues all communities. Not just african americans or gays.

There is many different stories on where it came from, someone said one gay guy went to Africa and had anal sex with a monkey and got aids from the monkey, but some other stories said someone got bitten by monkey with aids.. They believe that HIV came from when men would hunt and eat monkeys that the monkeys blood was contaminated in Africa. That it would get in thru the wounds of the hunter or the monkey meat wasn't dealt with right. There is a disease in the monkey family called SIV which stands for (simian immunodeficiency virus) and when this get in the later stages like HIV do it is called SAIDS which stand for (simian acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). When looked closely into a microscope the strains looked very similar to HIV and then as you know the later stages of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) leads to AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). Its origin is Africa and because Africa has HIV1 AND HIV2. HIV1 is the one well known every where else. HIV2 is mainly known in Africa and is less transmittable and is very rare in other places in the world. Hope this helpeful.
