I get tested all the time and it's 3 months, but sometimes it still won't show until 6 months. Pretty long time, but that's how long it takes. 3-6 months.

6 months, because for what i know the virus takes about 6 months to show in your system. Some people get tested earlier and it comes out negative but in the end they're positive.

You should have been tested BEFORE sexual contact as well as periodically afterwards!!!

you can test right away but there is no gurantee it will be detected they will want you to come back every 6 months for a year to keep testing to make sure you didnt contract it
