How do you know if infected? Get tested, there is no other way. There are no symptoms to HIV infection.

it's possible. you never really know how many people that one person has been with. and there is no initial reaction. you should get tested on a regular basis

Yes you can. You can also get pregnant on the first time as well. The only way to tell if a person is HIV-free is to do an antibody test. You can be symptom-free from years and still have HIV. If you test positive for antibodies (seropositive), you have HIV. Go to your doctor or a local clinic and get a test done.

Yes. Your best bet for finding out woult be to see a doctor. Many people do not develop any symptoms when they first become infected with HIV. Some people, however, get a flu-like illness within three to six weeks after exposure to the virus. This illness, called Acute HIV Syndrome, may include fever, headache, tiredness, nausea, diarrhoea and enlarged lymph nodes (organs of the immune system that can be felt in the neck, armpits and groin). These symptoms usually disappear within a week to a month and are often mistaken for another viral infection.

Yes, you would also have to wait six months(or weeks I 4got) b4 you can get the blood test for HIV. So please do the world a favor and stay away from sex for that amount of time. Sorry for being blunt, but you have a responsability to protect others from what you MAY potentially have.

Hi! Yes! Even if you used a condom, it is only 50 percent effective. If anal sex is done, than the risk is higher. If oral sex, yes also. It is so scary! Now, science has found out that even if you have a test for AIDS, and the test is negative, the disease can still show up 15 years later after the sexual encounter. It's a very tricky thing to play around with. Be extremely careful and it's best to really know the person you want to have contact with and try to not have sex until you both are tested and monogamous or thinking of marriage. You don't feel too much in the beginning if you are infected. That's why it's hard to know. It's only in the late stages that you get extremely tired, loose weight feel awful like the flu, get large pimples and scales, pain and the rest. My cousin was infected and died 2 years later in agony. Others are infected but it goes into a remission-like stage. I've never heard of an initial reaction. Good luck to you!
