Is Uganda doing the right thing banning homosexuality stoping HIV/AIDS?
Its not communist or a ban on liberty banning homosexuality or is it.?

Unfortunately for Uganda, heterosexuals spread HIV/AIDS as well.

They're banning the way people think and what they do behind closed doors - their government is obviously staffed by neanderthals.

It is stupid. Plenty of straight people have HIV or AIDS. It isn't just homosexuals.

The bill isn't only directed at AIDS. Most Ugandans believe homosexuality is immoral and that the western is turning its young into gays. It just shows that vicious bigotry exists everywhere. The world could be looking at the next genocide.

No. The thing that is causing the slight increase in HIV/AIDS in Uganda--after their very good policy in eradicating it in the past decade--is the shift in the government policy from prevention, education and treatment to "abstinence only;" comprehensive sex education and condom promotion are no longer mainstream. And they're not just "banning" homosexuality. Their law states that gays can be executed, and that they can be extradited and prosecuted for homosexual behavior in another country.

Homosexuals are more likely to contract the disease, but the cesspool of sh!t eating African countries are filled w/ many HIV/AIDS patients (straight and gay) so a ban on homosexuality won't help. I'm against homosexual marriage and the such but what people do in there private homes is no business of mine or any govt. the homosexuals there probably aren't as annoying as the ones here, I'd rather they execute the butt pirates @ parades but....

It is a desperate attempt. AIDS is running rampant and they need to feel like they are doing something. Unfortunately what they are doing is taking away freedom from its people (the right to love who you choose) and it won't fix the problem.
