People are STILL uneducated and ignorant about HIV/AIDS... just recently I answered a question of a woman who wouldn't allow her kids to hug/kiss their aunt because she had HIV. It's amazing how people these days are still so very uneducated about it and paranoid that they might catch it. When in reality they're the ones who should educate themselves on how to protect themselves. Everyone is still under the impression that if you contract HIV/AIDS that you must be a drug addict or a whore. They don't even take into account of the possibility that it's a simple accident, blood transfusion, or getting infected by someone who didn't know they had it or didn't inform them. My step-dad has had HIV for almost 20 years and we're all still very careful around him. I'm so sorry about your friends.

Thank you for posting this! I am floored by the level of ignorance when it comes to HIV and AIDS. My 9-year-old son knows more about it than some of these idiots! Just to review, kids - you can't get AIDS from: Kissing Holding hands Hugging Sharing straws, food utensils, plates, etc Airborne droplets (sneezing, coughing) And your germy a ss is far more dangerous to an AIDS patient than they are to you. They are immunocompromised. You probably aren't. Behavior that will put you at risk for ALL STDs: Promiscuity, safe or unsafe. Condoms aren't 100%. Oral, anal or vaginal intercourse, "completion" isn't needed to spread infections! Sharing needles, which you should not be using anyway. I hope this clears things up a bit. Be safe everyone.

Well I know that for me and knowing that a lot of ppl are not careful in protecting themselves and NEVER get tested , which accounts for the major rise in HIV infections, ppl that have it dont even know it. That is what TRULY SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME! so I only have sex with a condom and only after getting to know someone. Besides HIV is a scary issue not to be taken lighty.
