How do men get tested for HIV/AIDS?
Hey im 18 and im looking back at my sex life and i realized i had unprotected sex with 3 different girl friends. and you know nowadays you cant be to sure.. so i was wondering if i go into a clinic what exactly does the doctor do to me in order to check for any STD's . I heard that the doctor puts something in the hole of your penis ? please tell me thats not true... and explain how they really check.

blood tests :) oh and for std's yes they put the swab up there... but for a woman they do the same thing only it's not painful, i know it's scary to think about that, but if you think you have one, you have to get checked... you dont want some girl tellin everyone you gave her an std. cuz guys rarely have symptoms, but girls have symptoms badly. you really should get checked even if there is a tiny tiny possibility you do have one, always be sure...

They just take your blood. From your arm or hand. It's rather painless.

They draw blood and test it.

Ok, for chylmydia and gonorhea the q-tip where they stick in your penis is an old technique maybe some still practice it but not really much any more, usually for those they they just have you pee in a cup, very simple. For syphilis and hiv and other std's what they usually do is blood tests where they draw blood from you and that can test a number of things depending on the tests they are doing. HIV tests can also be through cheek and other rapid tests but are not always accurate.. For best results on a full screen just go get your blood check and you will know if anything needs to be taken care of. And best of all be careful next time, ok it's easy to make mistakes, hope everything turns out good, best of luck!
