If refugees have a contagious desease such as HIV AIDS are they allowed to live in Australia?

No, in fact they are not allowed to live at all. If we want to wipe out AIDS, we need to wipe out the carriers.

Refugees with contagious diseases (HIV/AIDS, TB, et al) are not accepted for resettlement anywhere. The UN refugee camps will generally quarantine them to prevent spread to others in the refugee camps. They are not resettle-able.
