There can be a lot of different side effects. While the HIV+ person is adjusting to a new mediation(s) th
ey can get very ill, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach. If a person does not use the medications as directed there is no sense in taking the medication s it will not work. There has to be a 95% compliance for it to work. Long term survivors can have major side effects, I have a friend who needs a liver transplant because the HIV medications he has been taking for 25 years has caused his liver to starting to shut down. Everyone reacts differently.
