I read on wikipedia that 75% of all hiv/aids cases happen in africa. is that really true? and if so why?

it dates back to the origins of HIV. it came from the Green monkeys indigenous to africa. eventually the monkeys spread it to humans, and voila, you have aids in africa

Aids originated in Africa for starters. Some other reasons would be Africa in most cases has poor medical treatment and a lack of testing for the disease. It is difficult to not spread a disease if you are not aware you have it.

IT IS TRUE..it happens because of poverty...which has been preserved in africa by environmentalists..they care more about protecting elephants and tse-tse flies than people...they have prevented africa from developing their economies...also the world wide ban on DDT kills millions every year,yet there is no credible evidence that DDT is harmful...americans dumped thousand of tons of DDT onto panama to build the canal there...no ill effects...it was the only way to be in that jungle...the mosquito's were killing everyone.as they are doing today in africa as well... and oh yeah...they shoot poachers,don't they? has nothing to do with education and condoms,as the liberals would have you believe...it is they who kill those people...

Many don't get tested; those that are infected, they spread it by sexual intercourse. Another factor is due to a cultural belief in Africa that AIDS is cured when you have sex with a virgin. Needless to say, the woman who is raped is also infected, and that creates another endless cycle of AIDS spreading.

Blacks account for over half of the AIDS cases in the US, amazing since they only acound for 13% of the population. It is a genetic predisposition towards this lifestyle, on average. This statistic proves its not just lack of education.

It is hard to tell every one that dies in Africa ''dies of aid'' there is a lot of money to be made off aids for these countries There is even a little talk about circumcision helping to prevent aids but since only white males are circumcised in America it is not P C to talk of it

Because the HIV users isn't limited to gays, drug users and prostitutes. In Africa the disease is spread through heterosexuals as well as gays, and prostitutes. The lack of testing and the lack of medical care leads to more cases. The other big problem in Africa is Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Is that all that you read? Did you not read about how they maybe got it? There's a lot of dirty crap that goes on in the country with this country playing a big role in it. Right here in this country there was the 'Tuskegee experiment'. And guess who the guinea pigs were? Poor black men who thought they were actually being treated but were not.

HIV originated in Africa so it was the first place it spread. Also the nations of Africa are extremely poor. Many of them can barely feed their own people, so providing things like health care services and proper education is beyond their ability. Its also reached a stage where such a large percentage of the population has HIV in some countries that it is impossible to contain.

1. Africa is ground zero for the AIDS epidemic. I believe it is a simian virus that jumped to humans. 2. You have a lot of people who just haven't been educated on how AIDS is transmitted, steps that could prevent it, exc. You don't have the resources to stop its transmission, like you do in the developed world. You don't have regular opportunities to be tested, either. 3. Poverty in a lot of African nations has driven a lot of women into prostitution. Mozambique, for example, comes to my mind as one such country that had these problems. Poverty raises the numbers of prostitutes, the number of prostitutes raises the AIDS crisis, the AIDS crisis makes the poverty worse...and so it goes... 4. Once you've passed a certain threshold of people who have AIDS in your country, it becomes difficult to keep in check. Peace
