No one is born with AIDS. Babies can be born with HIV infections passed on to them by their mothers but 9 times out of 10, it will be an anticipated event and not a complete surprise. "or is it just girls that pass it on to guys?" -- Infections can be passed on to newborns but there are also ways to help prevent this. An HIV infection can be transmitted to a fetus or during delivery. And it can be transmitted to female babies just as easily as to males. AND men transmit HIV infections to other men AND to women. DO NOT get the idea that only women transmit the virus and you guys are just victims. Also please do not use the terms "girls" unless you also use the word "boys". To do otherwise is offensive. Say women and men. "Can u get it without having sex with a girl" -- Where on this planet have you lived all this time? If you were HIV infected, a man could become infected by having anal sex with you. So, yes, "you can get it without having sex with a [woman]". "Could it just be there for a guy?" -- This question is illogical.

Well, historically first people who were found with newly discovered viral disease were MSM - men that have sex with men. This is why it was even called initially the Gay-Related Immune Deficiency Syndrome (GRID). The reason is that rectal epithelium is very fragile and transmission is more likely to occur during passive gay sex. Semen is considered to be most important vehicle for HIV transmission. Women are more likely to get HIV from men than vice versa because there are more surface in the women genitalia that get in contact with the viral particles contained in semen. Circumcised men are less likely to get infected themselves but their circumcision does not decrease risk of transmission to their female (and male) partners.; http://www.metapathogen.com/HIV-1/HIV-1-transmission.html Answering your q directly: you might not to catch it from HIV-infected woman if your member is healthy; you might get it even if you never were with woman but were with man, got contaminated blood transfusion or needle stick injury, were breast fed by HIV infected woman in childhood, etc.
