Is HIV/AIDs transmitted through the bite of a mosquitoe? Again, is it found in the human saliva? Are we safe?
HIV AIDs being a fatal diseases is transmitted in various ways through contact with blood. the virus lives in human blood.Sexual contact and blood transfusion are the common routes of transmission. The world through the maximum efforts of WHO is well sensitised but many particularly in the tropics and sub tropics turn to neglect. Mosquitoes do not transmit the adove Infection. We know that the virus lives in blood. Mosquitoes only feed on human blood meaning that, its saliva has to work on the blood and from my point of view, the virus cannot survive in it Again, once bitten, a mosquitoe will hardly visit another person immediately since it has to spend some time on the food(Blood). Again when bitten by a mosquitoe, if one happens to kill it immediately, it will be discovered that the blood for its feeding will clot without much delay hence the virus will hardly survive in such blood The world is not safe since unfaithfulness remains order of the day and many neglect AIDS/STI control.

The short answer is no, you don't have to worry about mosquitos. Below is a link to a very informative site on the subject. Regarding saliva, here's what the US National Institute of health has to say: Although researchers have found HIV in the saliva of infected people, there is no evidence that the virus is spread by contact with saliva. Laboratory studies reveal that saliva has natural properties that limit the power of HIV to infect, and the amount of virus in saliva appears to be very low. Research studies of people infected with HIV have found no evidence that the virus is spread to others through saliva by kissing. The lining of the mouth, however, can be infected by HIV, and instances of HIV transmission through oral intercourse have been reported. Scientists have found no evidence that HIV is spread through sweat, tears, urine, or feces.

Not by the bite of the mosquito. But it is transmitted through the saliva.
